"This was the house of your grandfather and your greatgrandparents," says Janu. "I come here sometimes to look at the carving on the door. The finest example in this area. I study it and try to make my own carving beautiful like this." The tears well up with no warning. To be standing outside the house where Granddad used to live is the weirdest sensation. A bit of me is happy that he never saw the house in this state, so he could keep his memories just as they were. But, for me, this crumbling house is still holding on to the stories that once happened inside it--like the building is guarding the secrets of the past." http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com

"The Irish breakfast--more properly, a resplendent banquet on a plate--was the culprit. He had tried to restrict himself to three such repasts during their stay in County Sligo, but ended up devouring seven, two of them out of view of his wife. This is a lovely book for children. The cover is bright blue with a boy and girl jumping rope. I like the painting. The painting will relax a child who might feel afraid of prayer. He or she can relate prayer to playfulness and lightheartedness. It will help them know God is not an old, old, mean God up in Heaven  who likes for them to get scolded or get a spanking or a time-out. Each prayer is a delight to read. "Onstage, the dancers were doing all sorts of outrageous things with their fiery swords. By now they had two flaming knives each and were performing some intensely crazy maneuver where they placed one blazing knife in their mouth while jabbing and thrusting at each other with the other. The drums beat incessantly, pounding a furious rhythm. We all felt the heat of the fire each time a flaming knife swung by, as we were seated so close to the stage, and with just enough alcohol in one's blood, one could imagine one was on a primitive beach in ancient Samoa, enjoying a night out with the tribe." http://www.fredasvoice.com
