NEVER SAY NEVER by VICTORIA CHRISTOPHER MURRAY

When I bought this Kindle book, only the first seven chapters were available. Now the whole book is available and can be ordered. This is a Christian fiction novel about two families. Mariam is married to Chauncey. She is the wife with children. Emily is the wife of Jamal. Emily and Jamal are an interracial couple.Mariam and Emily are friends along with a lady named Michellelee. The three ladies are very close sharing the good times, perplexing times and hard times of life with each other over lunch, at their homes or wherever.

There are a few heavy issues in the novel: how do in-laws, sometimes,  react to their daughter marrying a black man? Another issue is the importance of friendship for support in good and bad times. Next, the issue is the importance of prayer in any person's life. There is the need for faith. Faith is the basic foundation which causes these women to recover from trials. I became deeply involved in the next issue of the book. This issue is the life of men and women who are firefighters and their families who stand in the background. The families of these firefighters' lives are always on call just like the firefighter is always on call. For the wife every moment is a question mark. She never knows whether he will sustain injuries or death saving another person's life. Sadly, some times the families lose the one they love because their firefighter was sacrificing his life to save another life.

I will never look at one of these firefighters in the same way again. They definitely deserve my thanks. They deserve my prayers for protection, and their families deserve my prayers and thoughts too because they have decided to support the firefighter in whatever risky situation he might meet in a given day. So now firefighters are no longer strong men on the back of a red truck and in the front of a truck with a loud siren blowing in my ears causing me to delay my trip to the store for milk while I slide over on the side of the road and wait for them to pass. Then, speed off never saying a silent prayer for the men and women on the truck. "Lord, let them make it back home to their families tonight. Help them save the children and grownups they are rushing to rescue." In seven chapters VICTORIA CHRISTOPHER MURRAY helped me think of the every day heroes of the fire halls in my town. For this reason alone I will definitely read the rest of NEVER SAY NEVER.
